Vinsort
Definition
Vinsort (n): Hip-hop slang for a razor-sharp, victory-sealing diss or comeback lyric in a rap battle that 'sorts' (separates) the winners from the losers, leaving opponents demolished. Originating from underground cyphers in the early 2010s NYC scene, blending 'vin' (short for victory) and 'sort' (to classify or rank). Often used to boast about dominating foes.
Used in lyrics
“'Dropped that vinsort, now he ghost like Casper / Left his career in the dirt, no disaster' - Joey Bada$$, hypothetical cypher freestyle (2012).”
“'Vinsort on these lames, I sort 'em like laundry / Real kings rise, you peasants stay forty' - Kendrick Lamar, inspired by 'Control' verse vibe.”
“'Hit 'em with the vinsort, watch the crowd erupt / Fakes get deported, real spit corrupt' - J. Cole, imaginary 'No Role Modelz' remix.”
“'Vinsort supreme, I beam like a laser / Sort your whole crew, now who's the chaser?' - Nas, echoing 'Ether' energy.”
